Week of 4/13-4/17

This week we:

-Learned letter Xx.

-Practiced writing in our journals.

-Made our own hand X-ray.

-Learned number 24 and practiced counting.

-Made  paper xylophones and enjoyed playing some music with real ones.

-We learned  about the life cycle of the frogs and thier favorite food. We also learned how the frog's webbed fingers help them swim better and faster, we tried  moving water in a plastic container with our fingers then compaired it with covering our hands useing a plastic bag pretending we have webbed fingers and noticed that we can push and move the water much  better using the bag. The children love our science experiments!

-We enjoyed the spring weather and played outside everyday!

 

Week of 3/23-3/27 and 3/30-4/1

This week we:

-Learned letter Ww.

-Practiced writing in our journals.

-Made watermelon craft.

-Learned number 23.

-Practiced counting.

-Talked about spring and changes in weather and nature.

-Learned about animals that hatch from eggs and the life cycle of the chicken.

-Finished our spring bulletin board.

-We had so much fun at our spring/Easter party! 

-Had an egg hunt outside.

-Had a visit from Jack the dog (mascot of the Jackals)!

Week of 3/16-3/20

This week we:

-Learned letter Vv.

-Practiced writing in our journals and the sound V makes.

-Learned number 22.

-Celebrted St. Patrick's Day and had so much fun trying to catch the leprechaun that made a mess in   our classroom.

-Found a pot of gold and yummy candy!

-Talked about Volcanos and irrupted our own volcano in the classroom! 

Week of 3/9-3/13

This week we:

-Learned letter Uu.

-Practiced writing in journals.

-Made umbrellas.

-Finished our St. Patrick's Day  bulletin board.

-Talked about the wind and made pinwheels.

-Had a fun experiment to show how wind moves things.

-Learned number 21.

-Practiced writing and counting.

-Learned new sight words (out, they, it, like,my).

 

Week of 3/2-3/6

This week we:

-Learned letter Tt.

-Practiced writing in our journals.

-Made traffic posters.

-Celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday and read  Dr. Suess books all week.

-Ate green eggs and ham.

-Pajama day was so much fun!

-Learned about dental health.

-Talked about what foods we should eat to keep our teeth healthy.

-Had fun brushing an egg with soda stains  to learn that brushing keeps our teeth healthy and clean. 

-Learned number 20

-Practiced counting and writing 20.

-We had so much fun with our Teddy Bears! 

Week of 2/23-2/27

This week we:

-Learned letter Ss.

-Practiced writing in our journals.

-Practiced reading our sight words for this week  (good, at, the, not, see).

-Made spiders.

-Learned number 19.

-Practiced counting and writing 19.

-Played with colored sand.

-We had fun walking around the classroom with our socks!
