Week of 5/18-5/22

-We had a very busy week. We learned about the butterfly life cycle as we watched our caterpillars turn into cocoons   and then become butterflies! It was very exciting for the children to watch the butterlies fly around the net and enjoying the sugar water and the oranges.

-On Friday we released the butterflies and watched them fly around the yard, it was very nice! 

-We also talked about Memorial Day, colored pictures and read books.

-We started reading simple sentences! The children are so proud of themselves and i am even more proud of them!

-We started practicing our graduation songs and we are very excited! 

-For the rest of this school year we will be reviewing letters, numbers and different concepts. For example, more and less, tall and short, big and small, rhyming words and words that start with the  same sound. We will be very busy.

Week of 5/11-5/15

-This week we had so much fun learning about colors, each day we learned about a specific color, we learned how to spell the colors and talked about things that are that color.

-Every day we made a craft that associates with the color, like strawberry for red, sun for yellow, frog   for green, finger paint for different shades of blue, and purple and orange hand print flowers for puple and orange day.

 -We had fun playing outside and on Friday we did some of our work on the benches.

- We are still practicing our sight words and reviewing letters, numbers, patterns, rhyming words and much more.

-Our caterpillars turned into chrysalises. we should have butterflies very soon!!       

Week of 5/4-5/8

This week we:

-Reviewed uppercase and lowercase letters daily.

-practiced reading our new sight words (what, did, no, and,have).

-We took care of our plants and enjoyed watching them grow!

- Celebrated Cinco De Mayo and had fun making maracas and enjoyed eating Tortilla chips and salsa.

-Finished  our Mother's day gifts and cards.

-Got our Caterpillars! 

Week of 4/27-5/1

This week we:

-Learned letter Zz.

-Practiced wiritng in journals.

-Read letter Z book.

-Made Zebra "faces". 

-Learned number 26. 

-Practiced counting.

-We enjoyed the spring weather and played outside daily! 

This week was the last "letter and number" week, we will be reviewing numbers and letters for the rest of this school year plus a lot of projects and experiments.
