Week of 3/9-3/13

This week we:

-Learned letter Uu.

-Practiced writing in journals.

-Made umbrellas.

-Finished our St. Patrick's Day  bulletin board.

-Talked about the wind and made pinwheels.

-Had a fun experiment to show how wind moves things.

-Learned number 21.

-Practiced writing and counting.

-Learned new sight words (out, they, it, like,my).

 

Week of 3/2-3/6

This week we:

-Learned letter Tt.

-Practiced writing in our journals.

-Made traffic posters.

-Celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday and read  Dr. Suess books all week.

-Ate green eggs and ham.

-Pajama day was so much fun!

-Learned about dental health.

-Talked about what foods we should eat to keep our teeth healthy.

-Had fun brushing an egg with soda stains  to learn that brushing keeps our teeth healthy and clean. 

-Learned number 20

-Practiced counting and writing 20.

-We had so much fun with our Teddy Bears! 

Week of 2/23-2/27

This week we:

-Learned letter Ss.

-Practiced writing in our journals.

-Practiced reading our sight words for this week  (good, at, the, not, see).

-Made spiders.

-Learned number 19.

-Practiced counting and writing 19.

-Played with colored sand.

-We had fun walking around the classroom with our socks!

Week of 2/18-2/20

This week we:

-Learned letter Rr.

-Practiced writing in our journals.

-Practiced reading sight words.

-Made Rockets and Robots.

-Learned number 18.

-Practiced counting and writing.

-Reviewed numbers 1-18.

-Talked about Chinese New Year, traditions and food.

-We tasted white rice with soy sauce and Wanton sticks and tried to use chop sticks to eat.

 

Week of 2/9-2/13

This week we:

-Learned letter Qq

-Practiced writing in journals.

-Made our class Quilt.

-Learned number 17

-Practiced writing and counting 17.

-Finished our February bulletin board, (love bugs).

-Read Valentine's day books and colored pictures.

-We enjoyed our Valentine's day party! Thank you all for sending in the delicious treats! 

Week of 2/2-2/6

This week we:

-Learned letter Pp.

-Practiced writing and learning words that start with P. The children came up with lots of words.

-Made pirates.

-Learned number 16.

-Practiced counting different items in our classroom.

-We had an awesome Pitare party on Friday! We made pirate hats, eye patches, listened to pirate music, colored pirate ships and treasure maps. We went on a treasure hunt to find delicious treasures, had a special pirate snack and made a treasure bottle!

Week of 1/26-1/30

This week we:

-Learned letter Oo.

-Practiced writing in journals.

-Practiced sounds and words that start with O.

-Made Owls using hand prints as wings.

-Learned number 15.

-Practiced counting.

-Talked about snow and had an experiment to show how using salt help melting the snow faster.

-We played with snow inside our classroom!

-Talked about Groundhog Day.
